Morris Misel has been tracking the mortgage broking profession since it arrived in Australia. He was among the first Australians to use one, at a time when most people didn’t know what a mortgage broker was or trusted one to act in their interest and has followed the profession ever since: through the comparison tool revolution, the shift from product access to advice, the Royal Commission, the property market cycles, and now the AI moment.
For more than three decades he has spoken to mortgage brokers, and to leaders across financial services, insurance, and the property and investment sector, about what each of these shifts actually means.
His session goes beyond the technology to explore what the current moment means for the client relationship, the choices this profession faces, and what mortgage brokers need to build now for what’s coming. He doesn’t predict the future. He prepares audiences for it.
