Mel Stanley had a successful career managing a lending team at a well-known bank branch. She enjoyed her work and excelled in it, but often felt constrained by the limited lending options available to her clients. For Mel, homebuyers and homeowners deserved choice – and the lack of flexibility was just as frustrating for her as it was for them.
When the bank decided to close its physical offices and required its franchise owners to sell, Mel faced a crossroads. She recognised the opportunity to build something of her own, free from the restrictions of a single lender and the rules of the banking system. Confident in her skills and eager to deliver more for her clients, Mel made the leap into mortgage broking, launching MoneyQuest Bridgeman Downs alongside fellow branch owner Eloy Huitron, who also spearheaded MoneyQuest Ashgrove.
The difference was immediate. Mel could finally provide her clients with genuine choice, supported by the freedom to run her business in a way that reflected her values and her clients’ needs. In her own words, “People I said no to, I can now say yes to.”
Today, Mel continues to thrive as both a MoneyQuest broker and a franchise owner – helping Queenslanders achieve their property goals with flexibility, expertise, and care, and having the work-life balance she wanted.
